Airlift system

RULA design, manufacture and supply airlifts for a wide range of applications

Description

The purpose of an airlift system is too to vertically transportation of fluidisable powdery and granular bulk materials.

An airlift plant consists of the elevator casing (transmitter), the conveying pipeline, the expansion separator (receiver) and the air generating unit. The working principle utilizes the balancing effect between the static head of the material in the elevator casing and the flowing solids / air mixture in the conveying line. The static head of material in the filled vessel and the conical shape of the bottom section of the vessel forces the powder into the air stream from the nozzle, which carries air straight into the conveying line. The head of the material in the vessel seals the plant against atmospheric pressure at the point of material feed. The greater the static head of material, the greater the conveying capacity and vice versa.

The following products are airlift friendly.

Alumina, Bentonite, Raw cement, Finished cement, Clay, Fly ash, Ground ores, Gypsum, Limestone, Ash dust and Silica.

Design Features

- The throughput rates for the Rula airlift can be 1 to 500 metric t/hr and the vertical conveying height may be 100m or more

- Absence of maintenance through lack of moving or revolving parts

- Complete absence of dust

- Relatively low capital cost and favourable operating cost

- Low power consumption, which is a function of the material characteristics, the conveying capacity and the lifting height

- Unusually low wear factor which makes it particularly suitable for vertical conveyance of highly abrasive materials

- Small space requirement
