Du Gol Power Station Fly Ash Handling System

The Ash Handling System conveys ash from the Electrostatic Precipitator (6 hopper outlets), Tubular Air Heater (6 hopper outlets) and the Economiser (5 hopper outlets) to the Fly Ash Silo. This is for 1 x 55MW boiler unit with a pneumatic conveying capacity of approx. 10t/h/unit. The conveying distance is approx. 70m. A pressure vessel is installed at each Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) hopper outlet. The 6 ESP pressure vessels convey the ash through a common conveying line to the ash silo. The ash from the 5 Economiser (ECO) hopper outlets is collected, and cooled with 2 screw conveyors before it is crunched with a cruncher to break ash lumps. After the cruncher another screw conveyor conveys the ash to a surge bin. The ECO ash is conveyed with 1 pressure vessel. A pressure vessel is installed at each Tubular Air Heater (TAH) hopper outlet. The 6 TAH pressure vessels together with the ECO pressure vessel convey the ash through a common conveying line to the ash silo. A single roots blower supplies air for the conveying system. A standby blower is installed. The ash is stored in a 450m3 Fly Ash Silo. The ash is discharged from the Fly Ash Silo onto road trucks with a humidifier (conditioner - wet loading system) or into road tankers with a loading chute (dry loading system).
