// How It Works
Engineered for reliable pneumatic transfer.
Airlifts elevate powders by balancing the static head in a transmitter vessel with the momentum of an air stream that entrains the solids and carries them up a riser to a receiver. The simple, compact arrangement is well suited to continuous elevation where mechanical lifts are impractical or dusty.
Applications
- Vertical lifts to silos, cyclones and filters
- Closed‑loop, dust‑tight elevation of powders
- Cement and ash plants with limited footprint
- Retrofits replacing bucket elevators in dusty duties
Benefits
- Compact footprint with few moving parts
- Continuous operation with smooth solids entry
- Sealed system limiting dust escape
- Integrates with existing pneumatic lines
RULA Expertise
- Transmitter/receiver sizing and nozzle design
- Riser routing, pressure drop and air balance
- Controls, instrumentation and safety interlocks
- Startup tuning to stabilise solids loading
Design Specification
Comprising of:
- Elevator casing
- Conveying pipeline
- Expansion separator
- Air-generating unit
Material head in the conical-bottomed casing forces powder into the airstream via a nozzle, sealing against atmospheric pressure. Throughput ranges from 1 to 500 t/hr, with heights exceeding 100m.
