Design, fabrication and equipment supply for a pneumatic transfer system moving fine, dry baghouse dust from ground-level collection to the main product silo via a 27 metre vertical lift.
RULA designed, fabricated and supplied a complete pneumatic conveying package — pressure vessel, ceramic-lined bends, conveying and compressed-air piping — to move fine baghouse dust 27 metres vertically into the main product silo, with third-party AIA inspection, full quality documentation and commissioning support catered for separately.
The system battery limits extend from the outlet flange of the knife-gate valve beneath the baghouse air slides to the inlet flange of the main product silo.
RULA’s scope included the design, fabrication, procurement and ex-works supply of the pneumatic conveying equipment. The system comprises:
The pressure vessel was designed in accordance with PD 5500 and included third-party design review and approval by an Authorised Inspection Authority (AIA). AIA inspections were incorporated during fabrication, followed by final fabrication approval of the pressure vessel. RULA also developed the required system documentation, including:
Straight conveying pipework was specified as ASTM A106 seamless Schedule 40, without internal lining. The conveying bends were designed as ultra-long-radius bends with ceramic lining to provide additional wear resistance at high-impact areas. Air piping was specified in accordance with:
Non-proprietary equipment was protected using a two-coat corrosion protection system in accordance with the applicable Hatch painting and protective coating specification. For pressure vessels and piping, the coating system was applied externally. Proprietary equipment was supplied with the respective OEM’s standard corrosion protection.
Fabrication and quality control were managed through the RULA Quality Management System, including in-house Quality Control Plans (QCPs). The project quality requirements included:
RULA engineers and delivers bulk materials handling systems from initial design through commissioning.
